Teacher Thanks

This is my second post for today so don't forget to scroll down, thanks!

I have been wanting to do a thank you card for my son's teacher but I wasn't coming up with anything.  Enter The Play Date Cafe.  The challenge this week is to make a black and white card with a splash of green.  That made me think of a green apple.  I pulled out my Silhouette and die cut the apple, used some black Stickles on the seeds, then embossed with the D'vine Swirls from Provo Craft, and used a scoring board for the frame on the outside.  I think this card came together for me faster than any of the other ones!  I'm going to look forward to the next Color Splash Challenge at The Play Date Cafe!  Now I just have to figure out what gift to give her with the card!

Congrats Grad!

It's time to play again at  CAS-ual Fridays!  The theme is graduation.  I don't know anyone graduating this year so I haven't been thinking about a card.  I was brainstorming with my husband about what to do when I thought of a notebook.  When I was in high school my binder was always trashed at the end of the year, with papers everywhere, so I thought it would be fun to play off of that idea.  I scored the front of the card to look like a three ring binder and put the initials of our high school.  I like the sentiment because I think it looks like writing on a chalkboard.  Now all I need to do is find someone who knows a graduate so that the card can actually be given away ;)

Hang in There

When I saw the colors over at Colour Q this week I was having a hard time figuring out what I wanted to create.  That is one of the the reason that I like the Colour Q challenges because they really challenge me to use color combinations that I wouldn't normally use, they get me out of my comfort zone.  When I saw this image of the bathing suits in the Silhouette shop I thought they would be great for this challenge!  The colors scream summer to me and even though it is still colder here in Idaho I'm dreaming of warmer weather!  I added a little bling to spice them up and I thought the clothespins added some nice dimension.  I hope the weather elsewhere is a little more beachy!  Enjoy!

Welcome Baby Boy

I have a lot of friends who just had a baby or who are expecting and the majority of them seem to be having boys.  When I saw the colors for  The Playdate Cafe challenge this week I instantly thought about making a baby card.  The paper is from my stash of Daisy Bucket paper (sadly they are no longer in business) and I used my Silhouette to write the sentiment and cut out the star.  I need to be making a lot more of these considering all of the adorable baby boys I have been seeing lately!  Enjoy!

Birthday Bling

This week's challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays is Bring the Bling!  I decided to use pearls instead of rhinestones with these flower stamps because I thought it was more fitting.  Once again I brought out my trusty Silhouette to cut the label and I used my Fancy Pants Designs stamp set (Pollen Dust)  I have been trying to experiment a little more with card sizes and so I did a tall card this time.  I hope you enjoy the bling!

Hero Arts Peacock

I was shopping the other day and I came across this stamp from Hero Arts.  Could this stamp be any more beautiful!  I pulled out my watercolor pencils and went to work.  One of this months challenges at Hero Arts is to use flowers and colored pencils.  I am definitely new to the art of watercolor pencils and shading but I am happy with the results.  The fibers came from my stash and are from EK Success.  Hope you are enjoying a beautiful spring day!  The weather here has been really crazy, but it is sunny today, woohoo!  Enjoy!

CAS-ual Fridays Buttons and Twine

Since my last submission to the CAS-ual Fridays challenge had a little bit of potty humor in it(I couldn't help it, that is how my mind works sometimes) I decided to play it straight this time.  This week's challenge is to use buttons and twine, two of my favorite things!  I stamped the cute flowers with a Fancy Pants Designs clear stamp set and used my favorite twine from The Twinery in honeydew.  I have enjoyed these last two weeks and can't wait to see what the girls come up with for next weeks challenge!

Welcome Spring Card

I had so much fun making this tree and tire swing!  One day when I have more stamp sets I will start using more stamps, but until then I am having so much fun with my Silhouette!  This card makes me want to just go outside and lie underneath a tree and enjoy the nice weather.  I hope everyone is enjoying nice spring weather! I am going to enter this into The Play Date Cafe challenge.  Wish me luck!

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge CFC1

This card is for the first ever  CAS-ual Fridays Challenge.  I have to tell you this card was fun to make!  I was trying to think of an original card to make, using text, when I thought about a puppy being paper trained.  It grew from there.  My husband came up with the sentiment, which still makes me giggle.  The puppy is a Silhouette image and the rest was just stuff I had lying around.  I hope you enjoy this silly card.  I think I am going to like Fridays!

Colour Q Challenge #83

So I am entering in my very first card challenge!  It is with Colour Q and I am really excited.  I love the color combinations these ladies come up with each week!  I have been wanting to play around with this kite image from Silhouette, I actually had a dream about it last night!  Goodness gracious, I am obsessed!  All of the diecut images are from the Silhouette and the sentiment is from TPC Studio.
